What is

TMJD?

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder

The facts about TMJD

The joint that connects your jaw to your skull is called the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It allows you to move your jaw to speak, to eat, to sing and to laugh. Up to 12 percent of adults suffer from chronic jaw pain, facial pain, headaches and other symptoms commonly associated with Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD).

“TMJD is extremely common, and as a dentist, I see it day in and day out. The biggest cause for teeth grinding is stress, and we can’t tell people to stop leading stressful lives. By introducing Cerezen™ devices we’re reducing the impact that grinding has on our patients’ teeth.” –  Dr. Lance Knight, CerezenTM provider
